Of caves, cappuccinos and Clarens

We spent the weekend in Clarens with Reynard and Samantha. It’s very easy to spot God’s glory when the Malutis own the horizon wherever you look, and the days start early with cappuccinos on the village square and the air is fresh with old memories and new dreams filtered through cherry-scented sunshine. Seriously. It was that good.

Highlights:

For Cam, definitely the tee-pees in the garden of Valley Cats Espresso Café.
Late night chatting over Reynard’s decaf, the boys asleep on their holiday beds.
Being blissfully amazed at how the boys respond to undiluted time with Murray.
The cool shade of a cliff, finding a ‘Dad-and-Cammy cave’ and watching bees on high-up flowers that only God gets to see for most of the year.
A lot of laughing.
Rest.

‘The Lord himself watches over you! The Lord stands beside you as your protective shade. The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.’ – Psalm 121:5-6
